With the aim of recognizing the role of women in agribusiness and serving an increasingly dynamic and growing soy market in the country, SEEDCORP|HO launches a new brand of soy genetics, Ellas Genética. The new brand expands the use of varieties from the company's germplasm bank, focused on productive potential and tolerance to diseases and nematodes.

“Women’s work has been fundamental to the development of the agricultural sector. Therefore, our goal is for them to feel recognized, respected and honored by our brand. We believe that we are a reflection of society and that our actions and projects must be aligned with the purpose of contributing to more diverse and inclusive environments, at the same time that we will be bringing new soy genetic options to Brazilian producers”, explains Daniel Glat, Operations Director at SEEDCORP|HO.

Far beyond the name, the company also intends to involve women in various aspects of the brand, such as research, marketing and market development. “At first, we will adopt the licensing model, that is, we will license our genetics so that other partner companies can multiply the seeds and sell them under their own brands”, says Glat. In principle, the Ellas Genética portfolio will only be available for the Brazilian Cerrado, through the multipliers Sementes Bom Jesus, Cereal Ouro, Sinagro and Cia.Seeds.

The company predicts that, in five years, it will have sold around 800 bags of 200 seeds, under the Ellas Genética brand. Therefore, together, the company's two brands – HO Genética and Ellas Genética – will concentrate 15% of this market in Brazil. It is expected that within three years the brand's operations will be expanded throughout Brazil and also South America.

With a total of 120 employees in its office in Goiânia (GO), SEEDCORP I HO has approximately 50% of its staff occupied by women. Recently, the company announced the arrival of Micheli Possobom, who took on the role of soybean breeder in the southern region of Brazil. Graduated in Agricultural Engineering from Universidade Santa Maria (RS), she has a master's degree in Agronomy, with an emphasis on Plant Breeding from the same university, and a PhD in Phytotechnics, also with an emphasis on Plant Improvement, this time from the Federal University of Viçosa (MG ).

“I am very proud to be part of a company that truly cares about the space that women occupy in society, helping us to be recognized and increasingly play a leading role in agribusiness”, celebrates Micheli.
