PR 2024/25 Harvest: rains impact crops in the state
High precipitation volumes restored soil moisture, but also caused localized problems
Seedcorp HO is set to hit a major milestone in the 24/25 crop year, with a forecast of selling 1,1 million bags of seeds in the South region. In 2018, the company sold 70 bags.
The company's market share, which was less than 1% in 2018, is expected to reach 7% in the new harvest, according to Eduardo Brandalize, Market Development and Southern Licensing Manager at Seedcorp HO.
The company operates with its own brand and genetics licensing in a unique model that integrates research, production, market development, sales and logistics. According to Brandalize, the competitiveness of the cultivars offered has been a determining factor for success in the region. HO Pirapó stands out among the cultivars, being the best-selling in Rio Grande do Sul, Santa Catarina, Paraná and in the south of Mato Grosso do Sul.
Over the past two years, the Intacta 2 Xtend platform has brought new growth opportunities. The company already has eight licensees and 15 sales representatives dedicated exclusively to the South region.
Brandalize believes that the expansion reflects the alignment of the solutions offered with the demands of farmers, especially in relation to productivity, resistance to cercospora and phytophthora and adaptation to variable climate conditions.
Seedcorp HO also plans to soon launch the first cultivars developed at its research station in Sertanópolis, Paraná. “This will ensure our even greater competitiveness in the region,” highlights Brandalize.
