Epamig discusses banana plantation nutrition in online event
Online event, which takes place on October 21st, will have the theme "Nutritional Assessment of Banana Plants"
Scheduled for October 27th, a meeting of the Soy Sector Chamber, linked to the Secretariat of Agriculture, Livestock and Rural Development (SEAPDR), will discuss topics associated with the use of the hormonal herbicide Dicamba in the 2021/2022 harvest and the distribution of inputs and fertilizers in the state level. This agenda was proposed by the president of the Soy Producers Association (Aprosoja/RS), Décio Teixeira, who was at SEAPDR this Tuesday (19/10).
The 2021/2022 harvest will be the first in the country with commercial use of soybeans tolerant to Dicamba, an agrochemical that has been questioned by entities such as Aprosoja. “This product is much more volatile than 2,4-D, it was suspended in 2020 in the United States and, therefore, Rio Grande do Sul has to be a pioneer by issuing a warning to producers”, claimed Teixeira, asking for the support from SEAPDR. The president of Aprosoja also pointed out that another concern refers to the scarcity of inputs and fertilizers on the market, which leads to higher prices and reduces the possibilities of choosing between one product and another.
From this, SEAPDR decided to take these topics to the sectoral meeting, when it will also hear from other federations, such as Farsul and Fetag, in order to expand views on the suggested agenda. Representatives from the National Association of Agricultural and Veterinary Input Distributors (Andav) and the Brazilian Association of Post-Patent Pesticides (Aenda) will also be invited to explain the situation regarding the supply of inputs in the State for this soybean cycle, which has intensified planting at from now on.
The Deputy Secretary of Agriculture, Luiz Fernando Rodriguez Junior, recalls that the application of hormonal agrochemicals, such as 2,4-D and Dicamba, have been targets since 2019 of Normative Instructions that regulate the use of this type of herbicides in Rio Grande do Sul , the first State to develop rules with the aim of improving and monitoring the correct management of agricultural pesticides and reducing drift on sensitive crops.
