II Entomology and Biodiversity Conservation Meeting takes place in October

Scientific researcher Hamilton Humberto Ramos was appointed director of the Engineering and Automation Center (CEA), at the Agronomic Institute (IAC), based in the city of Jundiaí. An entity of the Department of Agriculture and Supply of the State of SP, CEA-IAC celebrates its 52nd anniversary this year. The study center promotes actions to modernize agriculture: it develops research and services in the areas of mechanization, biosystems engineering, rural work safety, input application technology and agri-environmental management, among others.
Ramos had his appointment published yesterday by the Government of the State of São Paulo. He will work alongside the new Secretary of Agriculture, Itamar Borges and the new general director of the IAC, Marcos Guimarães de Andrade Landell.
Having worked at CEA-IAC for 27 years, Ramos is an agronomist from Unesp in Jaboticabal (SP). With a PhD in plant production, he is also a member of the ABNT Study Committee on Protective Gloves and Clothing for Chemical Risks and representative of Brazil on the Committee of the global certification body ISO – International Standardization Organization. He is also a member of the World Consortium for the Improvement of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) in Agriculture.
The researcher will be the director of CEA-IAC with the coordination of four technological programs that have gained a reputation as global leadership, in the areas of agrochemical application technology and rural work safety: Aplique Bem, IAC-Quepia, Spraying Adjuvants and Reference. In the academic sphere, Hamilton Ramos is a guest professor at the Faculty of Agronomy Dr. Francisco Maeda, in Ituverava (SP).
