Agribusiness has been going through a true digital revolution. The sector, which represents a quarter of Brazilian GDP, according to data from the Center for Advanced Studies in Applied Economics, is increasingly eager for technological solutions. Therefore, Agrotis, a partner of SAP Business One, a division focused on growing companies of the world leader in ERPs, has been increasingly reinforcing its strategic positioning in the sector.
With 30 years of expertise in agribusiness, the company operates in several areas, offering specific technological solutions for rural production, resale and distribution of agricultural inputs, feed and fertilizer industries, agricultural cooperatives, warehouses and cereal producers, seed production, among others. . “Our difference lies in understanding the demands of each agricultural client in order to propose the ideal solutions for each one, in a very vertical way”, emphasizes Evaldo Hansaul, commercial director at Agrotis.
According to data from Embrapa (Brazilian Agricultural Research Corporation), 84% of Brazilian producers and rural service providers use at least one digital technology to improve their agricultural production. But it was not always so. Until recently, rural producers managed their businesses in a manual and decentralized manner.
Today, through SAP Business One, producers guarantee much more governance for their business, managing their property with compliance and confidentiality. “In addition to gains in productivity, the field has also gained in the professionalization of its management. With technology, nothing is lost. Each activity is carefully monitored and the result is much more intelligent management”, he adds. With the digitalization of tax obligations, the adoption of field technology has become even more essential.
However, agribusiness management demands very specific knowledge. Even the analysis of the results is different, as the crop is normally planted in one year and harvested in another. But, the benefits don't stop there. “Technology has been enabling predictive agriculture, where producers can estimate their production in advance, predict climate changes and carry out assertive pest control. Real-time information facilitates decision-making, improves productivity and profitability, making Brazilian agribusiness much more competitive in the world.”
For Daniel Cabrera, director of SAP Business One Brasil, the partnership with Agrotis is extremely important for the dissemination of technological solutions in the field. “In addition to traditional ERP offerings, Business One is capable of going further. The HANA platform has been spreading the use of resources such as Artificial Intelligence, Robotics, Big Data, Machine Learning and the Internet of Things to improve results in agriculture and farming. Data processing together with integration services enable predictive business analysis, making agricultural production more intelligent through technology and constant innovation.”
