Communication Mechanics turns 50
It is one of the longest-running companies in the sector operating in the market.
The delegation from the Brazilian Association of Cotton Producers (Abrapa) is receiving positive feedback from Chinese businesspeople visited by Missão Vendedores. The commercial exchange aims to dialogue with Brazilian cotton customers in the Asian country.
On Tuesday (18/04), the visit to the company Bros Eastern, specialized in manufacturing and selling yarn and located in Ningbo, was an example of the good perception that the Chinese market has of Brazilian feather. “We have visited the company before, but this time we realized that they are more confident in Brazilian cotton. We gained credibility”, says Alexandre Schenkel, president of Abrapa.
Schenkel reinforced the work of Brazilian cotton farmers and state associations to strengthen Abrapa's programs that deliver quality, sustainability and traceability to consumers of national fiber.
“The pandemic has led all sectors to ups and downs in relation to consumption, but we are seeing in China that companies are moving, including the textile industry. They are more optimistic about the global market, which contributes to our business”, explains the executive.
Visiting a cotton trading company in Tongshou province on Wednesday (19), the Brazilian delegation was able to present, in their hands, a t-shirt tracked from end to end by the SouABR program. “It was very important to show Chinese executives that that t-shirt contains cotton produced by nine rural producers, to show which spinning mill the yarn was made, the knitting mill, the manufacturing company and the brand that created the piece. This is traceability and it made a good impression”, said Alexandre Schenkel.
The industry in Tongshou had already been visited by Abrapa in 2019, but years later Brazilians came across a better impression of the cotton grown in the country.
“We explain how the Brazilian traceability system works, through which we check the quality of the feather and follow international standards. We show our quality indicators and talk about the beginning of the Brazilian Cotton Quality Program, which is endorsed by the Brazilian Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock. After the conversation, we wanted to know if all this is important for the credibility of Brazilian fiber and the answer was positive”, explained the president of Abrapa.
In Zhengzhou, the second Cotton Brazil Outlook event took place, in which Abrapa updated industrialists and other interested parties on Brazilian cotton production, covering harvest, traceability, quality and sustainability. “There was a lot of interaction from the public and this shows us the credibility of the work done by Cotton Brazil”, says Schenkel.
Created in 2019 by Abrapa, Cotton Brazil is the program to promote Brazilian cotton on a global scale, in partnership with the Brazilian Export and Investment Promotion Agency (Apex-Brasil) and with support from the National Association of Cotton Exporters (Anea ). The Vendedores Mission is Cotton Brazil's second commercial exchange this year, running until April 25th and including visits to South Korea.
