The Rural Coopavel Show, one of the three largest events for the dissemination of technologies to the countryside in the world, was chosen by Banco do Brasil as one of the national bases for the launch of the largest Harvest Plan in history. The online ceremony took place this Monday morning, 28/06, and was attended by President Jair Bolsonaro, the ministers of Agriculture, Tereza Cristina, and Economy, Paulo Guedes, and the president of Banco do Brasil Fausto Ribeiro. The broadcast was watched by more than 90 thousand BB employees in more than four thousand cities, in addition to farmers.

The 2021/2022 Harvest Plan will release R$251 billion (6% more than in 2020), and it will be up to Banco do Brasil to lend R$135 billion to rural producers across the country, a volume 20% higher than the amount released in the year previous. Coopavel member since 1971, Vilson Albiero, who has been an account holder at Banco do Brasil for 50 years, signed the first contract to finance the 2021/2022 grain harvest in Brazil. In addition to Cascavel, the other national bases for the launch were Uberaba (Minas Gerais), Porto Velho (Rondônia), Campo Grande (Mato Grosso do Sul), Luiz Eduardo Magalhães (Bahia) and Ribeirão Preto (São Paulo).

“Agriculture is one of the great levers of the Brazilian economy and will always have the support of governments truly committed to the present and future of the country”, said President Bolsonaro. This volume of resources, a record for the Safra Plan, proves the importance that agriculture and livestock have for the Brazilian government, which is committed to strengthening the economy, generating opportunities and seeking quality of life for both those lives in the countryside as well as in the city, said minister Tereza Cristina. “National agriculture is experiencing a special moment and the trend is towards even greater participation in the world market”.

Inspiration

Dilvo thanked the federal government and Banco do Brasil for choosing Cascavel and Show Rural as one of the venues for the launch of the Safra Plan. “We are the cradle of Brazilian agribusiness technology, and we are at the center of a model region for work and productivity.” This recognition is an inspiration, according to Dilvo, and makes everyone dedicate themselves even more to results that lead to even better harvests and results. Paraná, he highlighted, is the state with the highest production per square meter in the country. “We only have 2,3% of the national territory, but we account for more than 20% of grain production and 30% of meat production”.

DNA

The president of Banco do Brasil, Fausto Ribeiro, said that supporting agriculture is in the DNA of the institution, the largest partner for rural producers in the country. “We are protagonists of credit for the countryside. We are committed to farmers and Brazil, stimulating work, production and results.” In addition to crops, the institution releases resources, at special rates and deadlines, for the purchase of tractors, harvesters, construction of warehouses and for sustainable projects. There are more than 5,4 municipalities served across the country.

Rural Show

The state superintendent of Banco do Brasil, Felipe Zanella, understands that the Safra Plan, with the resources it releases, facilitates the incorporation of the newest technologies in the field. “The Coopavel Rural Show is a showcase that showcases the best of innovation. Thus, credit, technology and innovation help in the success that is the hallmark of Brazilian agriculture”. In turn, the Corporate superintendent of Banco do Brasil, Wilson Cardoso, cites the Rural Show as a symbol of the strength of agribusiness in Paraná, where some of the largest national cooperatives are located, including Coopavel. “Banco do Brasil is a historic partner of Show Rural, a global reference in technologies for agriculture”.
