Representatives of the Tocantins production chain met, in Palmas, with leaders from LongPing High-Tech - a global company specializing in seeds - to learn about the investment plans for the new Forseed brand, which already has 14 corn hybrids, combining improved genetics and technology. With trained teams in the field and contributions to research and development centers, the company's main objective is to offer farmers products capable of responding to the specificities of each microclimate, soil type, planting season and pest and disease pressure.

Producer in Miranorte, Luiz Augusto Scaramal carried out a test with the hybrids 2B512PW and 2B663 PW in this last harvest. “The seeds showed excellent performance in the field, with a high production ceiling, grain quality and, above all, stability, reacting well to drought and disease pressure”, he assesses.

Thiago Stefanello Facco, who operates in the regions of Itacajá and Porto Nacional, tested the early 2B512PW and 2B587PW in large areas, in rotation with soybeans. “We achieved high productivity combined with health and stability. Based on the responses to the characteristics of our region and the cost-benefit ratio, we intend to include hybrids again in our harvest planning,” he says.

In Tocantins, other hybrids from the brand have demonstrated superior results in the field, such as the precocious 2B533PW and the super-early FS450PW. For the second half of 2019, the company also plans to launch the FS715PW and FS505PW hybrids in the region.

“Forseed was born in Brazil to be a global brand and Tocantins is a potential region in this expansion movement. We know the importance of investing more and more in research and development of high-performance seeds that are specific to what the farmer is looking for in each location”, says Aldenir Sgarbossa, Marketing leader at Forseed.
