The expectation of soybean production in Brazil in the 2021/22 harvest is around 134 million tons, which will be harvested from an area of 19 million hectares. In Rio Grande do Sul the harvest was around 22 million tons on around 6 million hectares. But it is necessary to emphasize that within this number are the 800 thousand hectares planted in the Campanha region and the western border of the State, an expressive number for those who, 10 years ago, dealt little with this crop.
To talk about important topics related to soy, the Bagé Rural Association and Union will promote the 28th Soy Production Symposium in the Campanha Region on the 29th and 2021th of July 8. The event is completely online and free and will discuss topics such as Management Systems and Evolution of Productivity, Economy and Agribusiness, Challenges and Strategies in weed control and the productive agricultural system. “In many properties in these regions, traditional rice and livestock producers, soybeans “broke” with this productive binomial and brought another income opportunity, but also the challenge of learning to deal with this new crop”, says the president of Rural de Bagé, Geraldo Brossard. Therefore, according to him, it is important to hold meetings like these because they provide the producer with learning and exchanging experiences with those who have already worked with soybeans for many years.
Brossard says that registration is now open and can be done via the link available here.
According to him, last year, which was also virtual, the event had more than 1500 participants over the two days. “This shows how much soybean cultivation attracts interested parties to exchange knowledge”, concludes the director.
