The year begins and with it the Field Days season begins. After all, there is nothing better to observe and confirm the results of the tools and technologies applied in the field than to check on site, such as the earthworks.
In relation to the most consumed cereal in Brazil, rice is no different. Despite Rio Grande do Sul's ability to grow grain (the state produces around 67% of national production), producers are constantly looking for new alternatives to increase production and reduce costs.
Examples of good agricultural practices with the application of new technologies will be presented at the Technical Field Morning, in a partnership between Granja 4 Irmãos, RiceTec Sementes and Projeto Sulco. The activities will take place on January 21st, starting at 8 am, at Granja 4 Irmãos, BR 471, km 500, in Rio Grande (RS).
At the opportunity, producers will be able to learn about rice seeds, with Max-Ace technologies (for control of red rice and grasses resistant to ALS) and FullPage technology (for IMI tolerance); in addition to new genetics of hybrid rice and furrow-irrigated soybeans.
RiceTec's Research and Improvement program's main objective is to develop hybrid rice cultivars with high productive potential and adequate grain quality for Mercosur countries.
The multinational, which since January this year has concentrated its operations in the municipality of Santa Maria (RS), projects an annual investment of R$25 million for its research units in Brazil. In addition to operating in the center of the state, RiceTec also has a Technical Center in the city of Pelotas (RS).
