Rice prices start April on the rise in RS

You Paddy rice prices in Rio Grande do Sul opened the month of April on a high. This scenario is due to the majority of industries active in new acquisitions and to rice farmers selling lots just to “make cash”.

Despite of complaints regarding sales to the wholesale and retail sectors of large consumer centers, industries in RS and other states increased their purchase offers to complete some lots in the state of Rio Grande do Sul. Rice farmers, in turn, they remain attentive to harvesting activities, both rice and of soybeans, however, they also give preference to selling other commodities, such as cattle and soybeans, to the detriment of the shell.

From 2 to April 9, the ESALQ/SENAR-RS paddy rice indicator, 58% whole grains, rose 0,9%, closing at R$40,73/sc of 50 kg on the 9th.
