Paddy rice prices are firm in the Rio Grande do Sul market at the beginning of August, with the ESALQ/SENAR-RS Indicator for rice 58% whole grains (weighted average and cash payment) returning to operating in the region of R$ 77,00/50 kg bag. Cepea researchers indicate that prices are rising in all markets monitored by Cepea, supported by the low supply of bark in the spot.

As for exports of rice in husk equivalent, according to data from Secex, they totaled 95,83 thousand tons in July/21, a volume 36,6% above that recorded in June/21. Imports, in turn, totaled 79,3 thousand tons of rice (husk equivalent) in July/21, a volume 7,1% lower than in June – this is the third consecutive month of decline.
