The Rio Grande do Sul Rice Institute (Irga) has confirmed the official end of the rice harvest in Rio Grande do Sul. The agency has concluded monitoring the 2024/25 harvest in all producing regions of the state.
According to Irga, although there are still specific areas to be harvested, the remaining volume does not compromise the harvest statistics. Therefore, the cycle was considered closed.
The technical team of the Technical Assistance and Rural Extension Division (Dater) is now dedicated to consolidating the data. The final report will provide detailed information on the harvested area, productivity, total production and losses.
Luiz Fernando Siqueira, manager of Dater, says that the harvest required special attention on several fronts. He highlights the current focus on analyzing the information collected in recent months to ensure a true overview of the harvest.
