Revelation of the Champions of the CESB National Soybean Maximum Productivity Challenge will promote the best techniques and practices used in the 21/22 Harvest

Scarcity of rain, little grain filling, input costs much higher than expected, germination failures and flower abortion. There were many adversities faced by soybean farmers during the 21/22 harvest. Despite these problems, many rural producers sought alternatives and achieved high and consistent production rates.

This is what the National Forum for Maximum Soy Productivity will show, an event that will be held by CESB on June 23, with live and simultaneous transmission on the main agribusiness TV channels in Brazil, starting at 08:30 am.

On the occasion, the unpublished numbers of the CESB Maximum Productivity Champions of the 21/22 Harvest will be presented, as well as the technical details of the Champion Cases from all regions of the country in the rainfed category and also the Champion Case in the Irrigated category, with the aim of to share valuable information for soybean farmers who wish to raise their standards in the next harvests. “This is part of CESB's philosophy, which is to provide audited data that shows all soybean farmers how to help raise the national average with profitability and sustainability”, reports Luiz Silva, Executive Director of CESB.

Great Resilience

According to Veranice Borges, technical coordinator at CESB, producers showed great resilience, carried out replanting and redoubled their attention to management to reduce production costs.

“In this harvest, more than ever, producers, consultants and sponsors showed confidence and enthusiasm with the CESB Maximum Productivity Challenge. We are honored to be able to encourage this production chain and we are preparing to recognize the champion producers and consultants of this harvest”, he adds.

Leonardo Sologuren, president of CESB, notes that the Challenge, which received more than 5.400 registrations in this edition, is established year after year as a real opportunity for Brazilian agribusiness to use even more excellent sustainable practices in soybean cultivation, in addition to encouraging the sharing of information between agents throughout the production system.

“This venture helps producers find ways to achieve vertical production growth, that is, aiming to increase productivity, in a solid, sustainable and profitable way", he points out.

Audits 

With the support of Somar – Serviços Agro, more than 850 audits were carried out on properties registered in the National Challenge for Maximum Soy Productivity.

According to João Zorzeto, Project Development Coordinator at Somar – Serviços Agro, the entire process follows the principles of impartiality and equality in the collection of information.

 "Participating soybean farmers have equality in choosing sample plots, defining the most representative location that best expresses the potential of their production unit, in accordance with the rules pre-established by CESB for participation in the Challenge. The entire audit process is documented and traceable with recording of images and footage, and each rule is referenced by the auditor in a Field Record. The information goes to the descriptive memorial and, at the end of the process, is shared via Digital Report".

The Project Development Coordinator at Somar – Serviços Agro adds that the audit process is divided into three phases, each one characterized by elements of evaluation and recording of information.

"In the pre-harvest phase, crop development indices are measured (stand, plant height, pod evaluation). In the harvest phase, the Sample Area is measured (2,5 to 10 hectares - in a continuous polygon) and monitoring the operation. Finally, in the post-harvest stage, we collect samples, monitor loading, weighing (platform scales) and issue a grain classification packing list", details Zorzeto.

CESB was created with the aim of offering a regional and national environment that encourages soybean farmers and technical consultants to challenge their knowledge by encouraging the development of innovative cultivation practices.

In addition to the National Challenge for Maximum Soy Productivity, CESB held the EAD MTA Soja postgraduate course at Centro Universitário Integrado Campo Mourão, carried out in partnership with CESB and Elevagro, with the aim of promoting extremely high-level technical knowledge , presenting data and productivity studies obtained by CESB, through rigorous protocols and a high level of transparency. With highly experienced teachers, the course has a curriculum that provides a wide range of theoretical and practical knowledge about the entire soybean production chain. It is ideal for novice or experienced producers to stay up to date with market innovations and be more prepared for the challenges of the sector, applying best practices in their productions.
