Resources invested in rural credit register a drop in the 2024-25 harvest, indicates Ocepar

The third edition of the Report released by Getec indicates that the accumulated value to date is R$3 billion

The Technical Development Management of the Ocepar System (Getec) published the third edition of the Monthly Rural Credit Report, prepared in partnership with the company Fator Agro, based on data from the Central Bank of Brazil. According to the bulletin, the resources applied to rural credit have shown significant growth over the years. In the 3/2020 harvest, the total transferred was R$2021 billion, increasing to R$247,31 billion in the 315,44/2021 harvest and R$2022 billion in the 359,18/2022 harvest. In the 2023/2023 harvest, the total reached was R$2024 billion, with an accumulated value of R$413,10 billion in this period. For the 160,28/2024 harvest, the accumulated value so far is R$ 2025 billion, representing a negative variation of 112,79% in relation to the same period of the previous harvest.

The resources invested in rural credit in the 2024/25 harvest come from various sources, with emphasis on Free Resources, which represent 48% of the total. Other sources include Mandatory Resources (21%), Rural Savings (16%), Constitutional Funds (5%), BNDES (7%) and other sources that add up to (3%). These data reflect the diversification of financing sources available to the rural sector, according to information from the Central Bank of Brazil.

Cooperatives

Resources allocated to cooperatives in Brazil totaled R$29,40 billion in the 2020/2021 harvest, increasing to R$39,96 billion in the 2021/2022 harvest, but falling to R$28,54 billion in the 2022/2023 harvest. In the 2023/2024 harvest, resources applied totaled R$44,62 billion. In Paraná, resources for cooperatives also showed growth, rising from R$10,32 billion in the 2020/2021 harvest to R$14,52 billion in the 2021/2022 harvest, but falling to R$8,76 billion in the 2022/2023 harvest.

In the 2023/2024 harvest, the total was R$15,24 billion, highlighting the importance of cooperatives in rural financing. For the 2024/2025 harvest, the accumulated value nationwide so far is R$12,55 billion, of which R$3,40 billion was raised by cooperatives in Paraná, that is, this represents 27% of the total raised by Brazilian cooperatives.
