Starting this week, the National Supply Company (Conab) begins collecting information that will update the grain and fiber harvest numbers in the state of Mato Grosso for the 1st Survey to be released by the Company, nationwide, in the next October 8th. Due to the social distancing imposed by COVID-19, all information collection work will be carried out remotely, with the support of the informant network.

Analysts, offices that provide technical advisory services, producers and resellers of inputs, among others, will be heard. The objective is to gather information on phytotechnical and market issues that influence production, such as planted area, productivity prospects, climate influence, pest and disease attacks, harvesting, marketing and other data relating to the crops examined.

The research will analyze the current scenario of corn, soybeans, beans, cotton, sunflower, sesame, castor and rice crops with a focus on the sowing of the 2020/2021 harvest and the harvesting and marketing of the 2019/20 and 2020/21 harvests. The information will be collected in 77 municipalities in Mato Grosso that have significant grain production. During the work, it will also be possible to evaluate the percentage of area sown with soybeans, climatic conditions and estimate the area that will be allocated to other crops of economic value in the state.
