NEXAT System Tractor wins gold medal at Agritechnica 2022
Defined by the company as a "holistic plant production system", NEXAT appears to be a large tractor with a curious shape, which can couple modules to work at different stages of cultivation.
The breeding teams at Embrapa Arroz e Feijão have been working constantly, aiming at the growth of these two crops throughout the country. For this year and the first half of 2023, new cultivars are planned to be launched that aim to bring security and diversity to the seed market. In mid-March, the Unit will launch BRS A706 CL, a cultivar for the Irrigated Rice System that brings great advantages in its agronomic characteristics, such as resistance to herbicides from the Clearfield Production System, high productive potential, tolerance to lodging and broad adaptability.
Still on rice, in 2018, the Company launched BRS A501 CL, the first non-transgenic cultivar of Terras Altas Rice with herbicide resistance, which stands out for the quality of grains with high and stable industrial yield and high productive potential, and which One of its main characteristics was the possibility of using it as a pasture renovation. In the same year, BRS A702 CL was launched for the Irrigated Tropical system, the first cultivar developed for the tropical region with Clearfield technology. In 2019, BRS Pampa CL arrived, launched at the 29th opening of the rice harvest, in Rio Grande do Sul. Last harvest, it occupied around 15% of the national irrigated rice market.
In 2023, BRS A504 CL will be launched for the Terras Altas System, a material for which Embrapa is creating a notice, aiming to select seed producers to multiply and commercialize. Herbicide resistant, which facilitates management, the cultivar brings an excellent opportunity to the market.
As more recent works, Embrapa's bean portfolio presents the cultivars BRS FC104 and BRS FC402, both launched in 2017. The first brought the characteristic of super precocity, a demand that has grown, as it allows farmers greater flexibility in crop succession programming. , escape from biotic and abiotic stresses, reduce the use of inputs and save water and energy. BRS FC402 has the greatest impact due to its adoption in winter cultivation, under a central pivot, in old and heavily used areas, due to its resistance to fusarium wilt; and during the rainy season, in regions with high altitudes and throughout the Center-South of Brazil, due to its resistance to anthracnose.
The BRS FP403 is another recently launched highlight. Highly productive, both in summer and winter, it is a differentiated black bean cultivar, with which producers can achieve the greatest productive potential ever found in the genetics of this group. This technological solution was developed to overcome the lack of black grain cultivars with tolerance to Fusarium Oxysporum, and can be widely used in the third harvest, in pivots that present this limitation.
In the near future, in 2023, the Company will launch two cultivars of common beans, the carioca type. The first of them is BRS FC414, which brings interesting agronomic characteristics, such as high productivity, good tolerance to soil diseases and a very comprehensive positioning, in terms of region and planting time.
The second launch will be BRS FC415, a variety with slow browning, a characteristic highly demanded by producers, in addition to good tolerance to soil diseases. This material is unique because, to date, there is no other material that combines these two attributes. BRS FC415 also has a wide range of regions and planting times, but should mainly cover the winter harvest in the Central Region and the first harvest in the State of Paraná.
