A survey conducted by FIESP with 514 agricultural producers from all regions of Brazil shows that 66% of them already use biological products (74% of farmers and 38% of ranchers). Among those who answered yes to the use of biological products, 45% said they adopt the resource across all cultivated areas.

The Brazilian Agribusiness Trends Monitor shows that the use of biologicals in agriculture is widespread, but their adoption on a larger scale still faces several challenges. Users of the technology themselves point to the high cost, difficulty in application and storage problems as the main difficulties.

Non-users of bioinputs – around 31% of producers interviewed in the survey, 59% of livestock farmers and 24% of farmers – attribute the lack of adoption of the resource to lack of information, variable effectiveness and high price.

The research also indicates that, in general, the quality, price and brand of products are the factors most evaluated by producers when purchasing inputs and bioinputs.
