Another national monitoring of grain crops carried out by the National Supply Company (Conab) will begin this Monday (23/05). Until May 27th, technicians from the state-owned company will carry out the research to compose the 9th Grain Harvest Survey.
For this occasion, Bahia, Mato Grosso, Mato Grosso do Sul, Minas Gerais and São Paulo are the states that will have in-person surveys. The states of Roraima, Rondônia, Acre, Amazonas, Rio Grande do Norte, Pernambuco, Pará, Tocantins, Maranhão, Piauí, Ceará, Paraíba, Alagoas, Sergipe, Goiás, Distrito Federal, Paraná, Santa Catarina and Rio Grande do Sul will hold remote monitoring (electronic contact or telephone calls).
Variables such as area, productivity, crop development and sowing and harvesting progress will be analyzed, including monitoring the impacts of frost in states hit by the most intense cold weather starting this month of May.
Data collection is carried out with several partner institutions, including municipal class entities (unions), small and large producers, agricultural cooperatives, input resellers and rural assistance and planning companies.
According to eighth estimate of the 2021/22 grain harvest, released on May 12th by the state-owned company, grain production in the country was forecast at around 270,2 million tons. The results of the research for the 9th Grain Harvest Survey will be published on the Company's website, on June 8th, with information from all participating states.
