Research Center for Innovation in Greenhouse Gases offers postdoctoral scholarship

Vacancy is linked to a project that studies emissions in integrated agriculture systems in tropical soils

Greenhouse Gas Innovation Research Center (RCGI) offers a postdoctoral opportunity with a FAPESP scholarship. The registration deadline is Sunday (20/11).

RCGI is an Engineering Research Center (CPE) established with support from FAPESP and Shell at the Polytechnic School of the University of São Paulo (Poli-USP).

The scholarship holder will collaborate with researchers from the NBS A2.2 project and will have among their activities: quantifying greenhouse gas emissions in integrated agriculture systems; and decipher the main mechanisms of N2O emission in tropical soils in integrated agriculture systems.

The position requires X-ray tomography image processing skills and experience in soil science, especially involving the carbon and nitrogen cycles. Oral and written communication skills in English will be essential. The candidate must have a doctorate in agronomy, biology, physics, geochemistry or related areas.

The postdoctoral opportunity is open to Brazilians and foreigners. The selected candidate will receive a FAPESP Post-Doctoral Scholarship worth R$ 8.479,20 per month and a Technical Reserve equivalent to 10% of the annual value of the scholarship to cover unforeseen expenses directly related to the research activity.

If the PD scholarship holder lives outside the city where the research host institution is located and needs to move, they may be entitled to an installation allowance. More information about the FAPESP Postdoctoral Fellowship is available here.
