Based on research focused on application technology developed by Fundecitrus and partner institutions, and with the adoption of joint management strategies, it is now possible to control greening with a 70% reduction in the use of water and pesticides in relation to what was previously used ten years ago.

By adjusting the spray volume volume, which went from 70 to 80 to 25 to 40 mL/m3 of canopy, it was possible to control greening without increasing the consumption of water and active ingredient.

Thus, the combination of adjusting the spray volume with the use of phytosanitary alert and external greening control actions – which consist of replacing diseased citrus and myrtle plants and/or releasing the parasitoid tamarixia radiata around the property, in backyards, farms or abandoned orchards – have increased the efficiency of controlling the disease and generated savings for the citrus grower.
