Release of rural credit reaches R$267 billion in nine months

From January to March this year, R$55,4 billion in rural credit was released, which represents 10% more than that applied in the same period last year

The disbursement of rural credit totaled R$267,5 billion in the 2022/23 Harvest Plan, from July/2022 to March/2023. Cost financing was used in the amount of R$160 billion. Investment lines contracted totaled more than R$72,7 billion. Commercialization operations reached R$21,7 billion and industrialization operations reached R$13 billion.

According to the analysis of the Secretariat of Agricultural Policy, of the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock (Mapa), 1.473.837 contracts were carried out in the nine-month period, 1.069.286 of which were in Pronaf and 167.745 in Pronamp.

The amounts contracted by small and medium producers were, respectively, R$43 billion in Pronaf and R$40 billion in Pronamp, for all purposes (funding, investment, commercialization and industrialization).

The other producers formalized 236.806 contracts, corresponding to R$185 billion in financing taken out from financial institutions.

Among the priority agricultural financing programs, the ABC+ Program, known as the Program for Adaptation to Climate Change and Low Carbon Emissions in Agriculture, stands out, with the application of R$3,5 billion, followed by the construction programs of warehouse, innovation and support for medium-sized rural producers, whose contracts were, respectively, in the order of R$ 2 billion.

In relation to the sources of rural credit resources, the share of mandatory resources in total contracts was R$63 billion, and that of resources from controlled rural savings reached R$53 billion. The two sources add up to 43% of total rural credit.

The demand for uncontrolled resources totaled R$107,9 billion, with emphasis on resources from the Agribusiness Letter of Credit (LCA) with R$64,1 billion, equivalent to 24% of all financing.

The South region continues to stand out in the Safra Plan financing with R$89 billion. The state of Rio Grande do Sul leads the ranking of hiring in the region, with 44% of hiring in the region, followed by Paraná, with 41%.

The Central-West is in second place in credit performance, with R$71 billion. In hiring in this region, Mato Grosso holds the majority of hirings (39%). Goiás accounts for 37% of the region's applications.

Release of Resources for Rural Credit in 2023

Under the current government, from January to March, R$55,4 billion in rural credit was released, which represents 10% more than that applied in the same period last year, for all purposes of rural credit (funding, investment, commercialization and industrialization).

In the first three months of the year, funding totaled almost R$31,5 billion, investment financing reached R$13,3 billion, commercialization totaled R$7,9 billion and industrialization, R$2,8 billion.

The values ​​presented are provisional and were extracted on the 5th of this month, from the Rural Credit and Proagro Operations System (Sicor/BCB), which records credit operations reported by financial institutions authorized to operate in rural credit.

Depending on the date of consultation in Sicor or in the Rural Credit Thematic Panel of the Brazilian Agricultural Observatory, variations may be observed in the data made available over the thirty days following the last month of the period considered.
