Regular diesel and S-10 hit record average prices in 2024

According to Edenred, the common and S-10 types of fuel recorded increases of 0,65% and 0,49% compared to October.

According to the latest analysis of the Edenred Ticket Log Price Index (IPTL), a survey that consolidates the price behavior of transactions at gas stations, providing an accurate average, regular diesel ended November with an average value of R$6,15, registering an increase of 0,65% compared to the end of the previous month. Type S-10 closed the period at R$6,21 in the same period, after an increase of 0,49%. Both average prices were the highest recorded for the two fuels throughout the year of 2024.

“Despite reaching record highs in 2024, the average prices of regular diesel and S-10 have remained relatively stable in recent months. Regionally, both fuels have also seen increases, with the exception of the North region, which saw a 0,30% drop in regular diesel in November,” says Douglas Pina, General Director of Mobility at Edenred Brasil.

In all other regions of the country, both types of diesel recorded increases in their average price. The highest increases recorded for both fuels were in the South, 0,68% for regular diesel and 0,84% ​​for S-10. Despite the increases, the region had the lowest fuel prices in the country, traded at R$5,95 and R$6,03, respectively. 

Although the South recorded the highest increases, the region with the highest average prices for regular diesel and S-10 was the North, where they cost, on average, R$6,73, after a 0,30% drop, and R$6,03, after a 0,76% increase, respectively.

In the survey by state, IPTL found that the highest average for regular diesel was recorded in Acre, at R$7,60, after an increase of 2,56%. Paraná appears as the state where drivers found the cheapest diesel: at R$5,94, even though there was an increase of 0,68%.

The state that recorded the largest increase in the average price of regular diesel was Sergipe, where it was traded at R$6,65 after a 5,06% increase compared to the previous month. Mato Grosso do Sul showed the largest drop, of 1,27%, with the average price there reaching R$6,23.

Regarding S-10 diesel, the highest average price recorded was also in Acre: R$7,57, after an increase of 1,61%. The lowest average price of the period was identified in the state of Paraná: R$6,00, although the value represents an increase of 0,67% compared to October. 

The biggest increase in S-10 diesel, 1,76%, was observed in Rondônia, where the fuel was now being sold for R$6,93. No state recorded a drop in fuel during the period. Maranhão, Mato Grosso do Sul, Paraíba, Piauí and Sergipe recorded stability.
