Registration open for scientific work at the Brazilian Cotton Congress

Registration for the student category is open until May 30th, while for other thematic areas, registration is open until June 13th

Registration of scientific works is now open for the 14th edition of the Brazilian Cotton Congress, which will take place in Fortaleza, CE, from the 3rd to the 5th of September. Promoted every two years by the Brazilian Association of Cotton Producers (Abrapa), with scientific support from Embrapa, the event is considered the largest meeting of the production chain in Brazil. The congress stands out for recognizing and rewarding excellent academic research in the country.

Registration for the student category (undergraduate and postgraduate lato sensu and stricto sensu) begins on April 1st and ends on May 30th. For other thematic areas (which include researchers, producers, farm technicians, consultants, among others), the registration deadline is from April 1st to June 13th. Registration must be completed by filling out an electronic form available on the congress portal.

Studies will be accepted with innovative, creative themes and proposals for solutions to problems faced by the cotton production chain in eight areas of knowledge:

I – Plant Production – Physiology, Ecophysiology, Phytotechnics, Plant Nutrition and Production Systems;

II – Digital Agriculture – Precision Agriculture and Artificial Intelligence;

III – Harvesting/Processing/Quality of Fiber and Seed;

IV – Pest Control – Entomology and Biotechnology;

V – Phytopathology and Nematology;

VI – Matology and Destruction of Soqueira;

VII – Plant Breeding and Biotechnology; It is

VIII – Socioeconomics.

Prizes will be given to the best works in the Undergraduate Student, Postgraduate Student, Thematic Areas (researchers from any institution) and Advisor Professor categories. In addition to participation in the 14th CBA, the best studies in the Thematic Areas categories and the Supervising Professor also authorize research grants for the 2024/2025 harvest.
