The Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Supply (MAPA) will organize Brazilian participation in three important international fairs scheduled for the second half of this year, WorldFood Istanbul 2018, in Istanbul, Fruit Attraction 2018, in Madrid, and SIAL Middle East 2018 , in Abu Dhabi. According to the General Coordinator of Investments and Cooperation at the ministry's International Relations Secretariat, Rodrigo da Matta, participation in international fairs is a strategic tool for companies seeking new business and market diversification.

Rodrigo da Matta observes that fairs function as platforms that reduce transactional costs, by bringing together a large number of actors from the international market in the same environment, giving visibility to companies and their products, optimizing contacts and knowledge of the business environment and trends of products and services.

In last year's edition, WorldFood Istanbul brought together 13.198 visitors, from 97 countries, and 354 exhibiting companies from 29 countries. With a population of 77 million inhabitants, with a significant portion made up of young people with a consumer profile influenced by Western standards, Turkey's food market has diversified, resulting in the growing search for new products. Furthermore, the bridge that Turkey creates between West and East increases the potential for business with other countries.

The 10th edition of Fruit Attraction 2018 will be held between October 23rd and 25th. Last year, the fair brought together 1,5 companies and more than 68 professionals from the fruit sector from 110 countries. The fair's participant profile included producers, importers, exporters, wholesalers and retailers in the fresh segment, as well as companies in the processing sector with a focus on technological innovation. Brazilian participation will be organized by MAPA in partnership with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MRE).

SIAL Middle East, in 2017, brought together 26 thousand visitors, 1.072 exhibitors in more than 30 national pavilions. The fair is one of the main platforms for accessing the food and beverage markets in Middle Eastern countries. The profile of the fair's participants included importers, exporters, wholesalers and retailers, representatives of the hotel and restaurant sector, among others.
