Barley harvest advances in Rio Grande do Sul
The cultivation projection is 34.429 hectares and productivity is 3.245 kg/ha
The forecast for the next four days in Rio Grande do Sul will be marked by the return of rain, but in an unevenly distributed manner, starting this Friday (1/11). This is what the Integrated Agrometeorological Bulletin 44/2024, from the Secretariat of Agriculture, Livestock, Sustainable Production and Irrigation (Seapi), in partnership with Emater/RS and the Rio Grande do Sul Rice Institute (Irga), points out.
Friday (1/11): a trough (elongated area of low pressure) at mid-levels between Argentina and Uruguay will create conditions for the occurrence of fog and/or light precipitation over part of the Western Border. For this reason, the weather should gradually become unstable in relation to the previous day, with high temperatures, cloudiness over most of the State and winds from the Northeast Quadrant intensifying along the coastal strip.
Saturday (2/11): a high-level trough in the interior of Argentina will lead to the movement of a cold front over the ocean, which will pass close to Rio Grande do Sul, allowing for the occurrence of light rainfall over parts of the South, Campanha, Western Border, Metropolitan and Valley regions. In the Northwest region, the rainfall intensity may vary from light to moderate. Therefore, the weather should remain somewhat unstable in most regions, with increasing cloudiness over the state and temperatures falling slightly throughout the day.
Sunday (3 / 11): a new upper-level trough over Paraguay will intensify its amplitude and influence the formation of a surface trough between Paraguay and Rio Grande do Sul during the day. Under these conditions, there will be little instability over the state and possibilities for the occurrence of fog and light precipitation in part of the South, Serra Gaúcha and Planalto regions, including more pleasant temperatures throughout the day. The trend for the next three days will be instability due to the arrival of a cold front.
Monday (4 / 11): the same atmospheric configuration as the previous day should be repeated, and the weather will remain slightly unstable with the possibility of light rain in parts of the North Region and Missões. In addition, the sky should be partly cloudy in most regions and temperatures should remain mild throughout the day.
Tuesday (5/11): the surface trough between Paraguay and Rio Grande do Sul will intensify, generating a cold front with light rainfall along the strip between the Western and Central Borders, part of the South, the Valleys and part of the Metropolitan Region, and moderate rainfall over the Western Border. The weather is expected to be unstable over the entire state with temperatures dropping slightly until the end of the day.
Wednesday (6 / 11): the arrival of the cold front in the state via the border with Uruguay should cause moderate to heavy rainfall between the Western Border and the Campanha Region, and light rainfall between the South, Central, Valleys and Metropolitan Regions. In general, the weather should remain more unstable compared to recent days, and temperatures should gradually rise throughout the day.
For the next seven days, the forecast is for heavier rainfall in the West and Center regions of the State, with accumulations between 30 and 100 mm. In the East, including areas of the Northeast, Coast, Center-South and Far South, rainfall volumes tend to be lower, varying between 2 and 30 mm.
