The climate analysis carried out for BrasilAgro, by independent companies, indicates that rain, especially in Bahia, should decrease at the end of January and "remain within normal limits", favoring the soybean harvest in the region. The company, which has five farms in the State, produces the grain on three properties.
Together, the operations in Chaparral, Arrojadinho and Rio do Meio concentrate 15,2 thousand hectares dedicated to soybeans.
"The rain was very positive for planting, because it came at the right time, and the expectation is quite optimistic, considering the climate scenarios for the coming weeks, including in the second half of February, when the harvest begins", comments Wender Vinhadelli, director of operations at BrasilAgro, specialized in the purchase and sale of rural properties and the production of food, fiber and bioenergy.
Despite the large volume of rain recorded in the State of Bahia, which caused losses in cities and small rural properties, BrasilAgro highlights that the harvest of this crop should follow estimates. The company, which is publicly traded on the Novo Mercado, estimates that it will harvest 398,5 thousand tons of grains this harvest year.
Soybeans, with an estimated 196,6 thousand tons, appear among the main commodities produced by the company. The company operates in six Brazilian states, in addition to Paraguay and Bolivia.
"In this harvest we had an organic increase of 4,8% in the area destined for cultivation and, within BrasilAgro's operations, the scenario is very positive and maintains the production expectations already announced to the Market", says André Guillaumon, CEO of the company.
