Published list of family farming products with bonuses in January

The Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Supply (Mapa) published this Friday (8) the list of agricultural products with discount bonuses in January to financial agents operating the National Program for Strengthening Family Farming (Pronaf). The bonus is used by the farmer as a discount on financing installments.

The list of products and states covered by the Price Guarantee Program for Family Farming (PGPAF) is valid from January 10th to February 9th of this year, according to theOrdinance No. 1, from the Secretariat of Agricultural Policy.  

The products with discount bonuses on operations and rural credit installments are: pineapple, banana, cultivated natural rubber, cashew nuts, castor beans, mango, passion fruit and cassava root. In relation to cashew nuts, the National Supply Company (Conab) explains that the large amount of rain in the Northeast led to an increase in the supply of the product on the market and, as a result, the price of the nut was reduced, justifying the corrective measure of the government.

For family farmers who have investment operations without a main product, which is the source of income to pay the financing, there is the bonus of the product basket. In these cases, discounts are calculated through a composition of the bonuses of beans, milk, cassava and corn.

The states on this month's list are: Alagoas, Bahia, Ceará, Goiás, Maranhão, Paraíba, Pernambuco, Piauí, Rio de Janeiro, Rondônia, Roraima, São Paulo and Sergipe.

Receiving a bonus from the PGPAF occurs when the market value of any of the program's products falls below the reference price, allowing the producer to use the value as a discount on payment or amortization in the financing installments in the National Program for Strengthening Family Farming ( Pronaf). 

Discounts for all crops are calculated monthly by Conab and published by Mapa.
