PTI, Huawei and Coopavel come together in the largest open innovation project in the country

Partnership seeks to connect Brazilian agribusiness to 5G network technology

An important event that will open up even more optimistic perspectives for Brazilian agribusiness will be held at 9:30 am this Thursday, the 1st, at the administrative headquarters of Show Rural Coopavel, in Cascavel, in the west of Paraná. Itaipu's PTI, Huawei and Coopavel will come together to develop open innovation projects for agriculture and livestock. The protocol of intentions will be signed by the superintendent director of the Itaipu Technological Park, general Eduardo Garrido, by the Sales director of Huawei do Brasil, Francisco Menezes, and by the president of Coopavel, Dilvo Grolli.

The partnership will connect Brazilian agribusiness to the technology of modern 5G networks, which are more efficient, faster and safer in data transmission. The objective is for this to be the largest open innovation project in Brazil in agribusiness. A modern 5G transmission antenna will be installed in the Show Rural Coopavel area, which will guarantee technological support for testing and validating new products and services by anchor companies, startups and academia.

The antenna will have a coverage radius of up to five kilometers, which will expand the capacity for concrete field experiments. A coworking space will also be set up to facilitate the working environment for the companies and professionals involved.

With the 5G network structure, Coopavel's customers and suppliers, such as the equipment and agribusiness solutions industry, will have the opportunity to test and validate several disruptive technologies that will be enabled with the high-performance internet connection, such as: ) real-time monitoring and transmission of high-definition images of soil and plantations for remote monitoring and technical guidance; b) the operation of machines and equipment in a more autonomous and intelligent way; and c) accurate and detailed information on the animals’ diet, behavior and health, as well as climatic conditions.

R $ million 6

Around R$6 million will be invested in the initial phase of the project. Most of the resources will come from Huawei do Brasil, the world leader in 5G technology, through the IT Law, with contributions and execution from the Itaipu Technological Park, responsible for the selection and incubation of startups, and in actions to meet concrete innovation demands open initiative of Coopavel and its network of cooperative members in 21 municipalities in the West and Southwest regions of Paraná. The innovative solutions developed will be presented at the next edition of the Show Rural Coopavel.
