The company has an exclusive regional division to meet the demands of coffee growers
Produtiva Sementes, a shareholder and the largest supplier of soybean seeds to SEEDCORP|HO, is investing R$40 million in a cold storage structure to meet, with higher quality, the increased demand from SEEDCORP I HO.
The storage structure involves the current three cold chambers in the states of Minas Gerais, Bahia and Tocantins, with a storage capacity of 1.120.000 bags of 200 soybean seeds, and the construction of a new UBS in Formosa (GO), which will bring a capacity of 25.
0 thousand bags this year and another 250 thousand bags in 2023, totaling 1.62 million bags of seeds. In 2021, the company invested in cold rooms in Roda Velha (BA) and Buritis (MG). Due to the altitude, these municipalities are considered the best in Brazil for seed production.
With air-conditioned warehouses, seeds are stored in better conditions, with temperature and humidity control, thus ensuring better quality and more availability of seeds for customers. It also brings more peace of mind in the face of climate risks that may occur in different states.
“SEEDCORP I HO has a projected growth of 15% per year over the next five years and this increase is due to the growing demand from producers for quality seeds of the HO SEMENTES variety. It is for this reason that we are investing in increasing storage capacity in cold rooms. This UBS will be strategic for SEEDCORP|HO partnerships in the future”, explains Gustavo Stroschon, managing partner of Produtiva Sementes. Although it is a practice in the seed industry to use cold chambers, due to the high investment, not all multipliers have them.
