In total, eight municipalities in large cotton-producing regions in Bahia, Mato Grosso, Mato Grosso do Sul and Minas Gerais are receiving speakers to listen and debate about biotechnology, genetics and performance of TMG cultivars in the field, management possibilities and information about the climate for the new harvest is just around the corner.

The round started this Tuesday (20) in Luís Eduardo Magalhães (BA). Today it takes place in Patos de Minas (MG), this Thursday (22) it goes to Chapadão do Sul (MS) and on Friday (23) Primavera do Leste (MT) arrives. The cities of Sapezal, Campo Novo do Parecis, Lucas do Rio Verde and Sorriso, in Mato Grosso, are in the second stage of the event, starting on September 03rd.

For several harvests, TMG cotton has been in a scenario of evolution and consolidation, due to field results that show the varieties' high productive potential and excellent fiber quality, of international standard. According to the Kleffmann AMIS 2019 survey, TMG cotton continues to be present in more than 1/3 of the entire growing area in Brazil and two of the three most planted cultivars in the 2018/19 cotton harvest are TMG - TMG 44B2RF and TMG 81WS. Furthermore, internal data shows a 48% growth in the volume sold of the brand's cotton seeds.

It is precisely these differences that participants learn about at the events, as well as TMG's genetic improvement work, focusing on high fiber productivity, resistance and tolerance to diseases and pests and the launch of new biotechnologies, and also the characteristics and positioning of the five cultivars in the portfolio, which includes the launch of TMG 61RF.

The variety differentiates itself by presenting around 48% fiber yield, while on the market the yield of most cultivars reaches a maximum of 42%. “Both in internal and external trials in commercial areas, the variety presents a very high yield, which makes it a cultivar with excellent plume production potential”, explains Renan dos Santos, Market Development supervisor.

In yet another harvest, TMG 44B2RF stands out for its high productivity and fiber excellence throughout the cerrado, mainly Mato Grosso, Bahia and Mato Grosso do Sul, which means an increase in premiums for producers due to fiber quality. This characteristic is also observed in TMG 47B2RF, which is in its fourth commercial harvest and, in yet another cycle, has been delivering excellent productivity.

TMG 81WS stands out in terms of rusticity and is one of the best varieties on the market for areas of medium fertility, in addition to being tolerant to root-knot nematodes and presenting high performance in productivity results. In recent years, it has already reached 510@/ha and 440@/ha, in Bahia, as well as 424@/ha in Mato Grosso and 409@/ha in Mato Grosso do Sul, among others.

As an option for refuge, in addition to the TMG 61RF launch, TMG 62RF has been available since last harvest, a cultivar with a good start and quick definition of productive potential, with RR Flex technology, which provides resistance to the herbicide glyphosate in all stages of development. of culture. “The TMG 62RF allows the maintenance of Bollgard II technology, including the TMG 44B2RF and TMG 47B2RF cultivars”, explains João Francisco Menezes, Market Development supervisor.

Weather forecast

Rural Clima's agrometeorologist, Marco Antônio dos Santos, is +Performance's guest to report on what the climate will be like for the next soybean harvest in the Cerrado and in the specific regions of the event. In general terms, he explains that it will be a year of climate neutrality, without the presence of the El Niño and La Niña phenomena. The rain regime arrives later in the cerrado and, as a result, planting should be established later as well, similar to what occurred in the 2017 harvest.

Between the end of October and the beginning of November, the rains begin to regularize, providing normal conditions for soybean development. Marco Antônio highlights, however, that this does not prevent periods of drought from occurring in the Matopi region (Maranhão, Tocantins and Piauí). “It will be a relatively good year, but not exceptional, that is, we will not have great records, but there will be no breaks either”, he defines.

TMG Soy

Thinking about rural producers who are still planning the next soybean harvest, TMG takes to + Performance the indications of its portfolio for the regions, with high-performance soybean cultivars that fit into early planting for those who opt for the second cotton harvest, and also for later plantings aiming for a second corn harvest. The varieties have commercial volume available and interested parties can contact the company's technical and commercial team. At the address www.tmg.agr.br There are team contacts.
