The corn productivity competition of the Getap Summer Forum/25 recorded historic results. The harvest of 343,1 bags per hectare, in irrigated areas, guaranteed Agrícola Binsfeld, owned by producer Dimas Binsfeld, from Palmeiras das Missões, a new national record. The result exceeds the previous maximum by 13 bags.
In the dryland category, the highest yield came from the Ernest Milla Agrícola farm, in Candói. Farmer Egon Milla achieved 300,9 bags per hectare.
Minas Gerais led the Central region with high performance. In dryland farming, Cláudio Isamu Okada (Madre de Deus de Minas) harvested 300,1 bags/ha. In irrigation, Alexandre Avelar Vallim (Três Corações) achieved 264,1 bags/ha.
In Maranhão, Jamil João Samara, from Pastos Bons, won first place in the North region with 272,7 sc/ha.
For Getap's technical coordinator, Gustavo Resende Capanema, the Summer/25 edition showed the advance in productivity.
“We had records and new producers on the podium. Minas Gerais and Maranhão stood out. The overall average jumped from 216 to 257 bags per hectare. A number well above the national average estimated by Conab, of 109 bags/ha,” he highlighted.
According to him, the climate was favorable for much of the crop cycle, with low rates of pests and diseases. Efficient management and good environmental conditions explain the performance. The strong demand, driven by biofuels, animal feed and exports, strengthened the sector's optimism.
Participation in the competition grew significantly. There were 390 entrants from eight states, compared to just 23 in the first edition in 2022. The number of audited producers increased from 20 to 165. All areas underwent technical verification, which assessed productivity, plant population and grain quality.
Each participant received an individualized technical report, comparing them to other competitors. According to the organizers, Getap's goal is to promote the efficient use of technology in the field, increasing productivity in a sustainable way.
The Getap Forum is curated by Céleres and supported by entities such as ABPA, Abramilho and Abisolo.
