President of CCAS will be a speaker at the Pint of Science Festival

The president of the Sustainable Agro Scientific Council (CCAS), José Otávio Menten, will participate in Pint of Science, considered the largest scientific dissemination festival in the world, which takes place on the 20th, 21st and 22nd of May in several cities across the country.

Menten will lead the lecture “Agrochemicals: importance for sustainability”, on the 21st, at 19:30 pm, in Jaboticabal/SP. Two more meetings will also be held in the city: “Transgenics: myths and truths” and “Plastic surgery, self-esteem and quality of life”. 

The president will address the importance of agricultural pesticides in sustainability, from environmental, social and economic aspects. “We will understand the agronomic, toxicological and ecotoxicological studies that are fundamental for these products to be available in our agriculture, always following good agricultural practices”, he explains.

This year the festival takes place in 24 countries and in Brazil the event is held in 85 municipalities. The topics are diverse: vaccination, climate change, agribusiness, cancer, life on Mars, genetic modification of babies, among others. More information on the website https://pintofscience.com.br.
