The president of the Agricultural Defense Agency (Adapec), Paulo Lima received this Thursday morning, August 5th, representatives from the Brazilian Association of Soy and Corn Producers of Tocantins (Aprosoja-TO). At the meeting, mechanisms for advancing the soybean production sector in the State were discussed, in line with phytosanitary defense and the control of Asian soybean rust, as well as other pests that affect crops.
Oilseed production has been growing every year in Tocantins, and thanks to the measures that the Agency adopted in legislative terms, pest control, mainly Asian soybean rust, has not caused major losses to soybean growers. “We are a supervisory body and work towards the development of agribusiness, therefore, we are open to discussing all proposals aimed at improving production and phytosanitary defense,” said Paulo Lima.
The president of Aprosoja-TO, Dari Fronza, said that the meeting served to present to the Agency proposals that could contribute to improving soybean production in Tocantins in the future, making better use of the systems already existing on rural properties.
