With 24 days to go until Expointer, which will take place from August 30th to September 7th, Emater/RS is advancing preparations for its participation in the state's largest agricultural event. This year is especially significant for the institution, which is celebrating 70 years of operations in the state and a decade in its new location, next to the Family Farming Pavilion.

In its institutional space, Emater/RS will present 24 thematic sections representing the work carried out in the 497 municipalities of Rio Grande do Sul. The group's chosen theme for this year is: "70 Years of Rural and Social Extension in Promoting Rural Development in Rio Grande do Sul," reinforcing the institution's historic commitment to the sustainable development of Rio Grande do Sul's rural communities.

"Among the many highlights and relevant initiatives carried out throughout the Entity's 70th anniversary, which will be celebrated in 2025, the agribusiness segment, located next to the Family Agribusiness Pavilion, deserves special mention. The main initiatives developed in this area will be presented there, including a modular agribusiness built using isopanels, which represents a practical and low-cost solution for implementing small agribusiness projects," explains Elias Kuck, Emater/RS's Porto Alegre regional manager.

In the Biodiversity and Urban Agriculture section, one of the new features, all the work developed will be demonstrated and contextualized, especially in the Metropolitan Region, where agroecological and peri-urban production plays a relevant role in food security and sovereignty.

There will also be a themed space dedicated to the technical-social work carried out by Emater/RS, with a focus on social assistance. "This space will showcase various initiatives, primarily focused on access to public policies and income generation, developed in partnership with communities and organizations supported throughout the state," says the manager.

At the preparatory meeting, regional managers Elias Kuck and Charlise Nunes, along with other extension workers, were present and discussed the final details to ensure a strong participation in the fair.
