Work carried out by Mosaic Fertilizers, one of the largest companies in the production and commercialization of combined phosphate and potassium, at the Cerrado Agricultural Research Institute (IPACER) demonstrated productivity gains in potato crops, in Rio Paranaíba (MG), with the application of the Performa HF fertilizer, developed for fruit and vegetable crops.

The harvest registered an increase of 382 bags per hectare (sc/ha) compared to the harvest carried out in the area that received the soil treatment usually used by farmers; considering bags weighing 60 kilos. In the first case, 51,1 tons per hectare (ton/ha) were recorded and, in the second, 32 tons/ha.

“As expected productivity in crops increases, the demand for balanced nutrition also increases; and the exclusive Performa HF formula offers elements to meet the needs of crops. With this significant increase in harvest volume, potato producers now experience excellent profitability gains”, says Fernando Guerra, HF Culture Manager at Mosaic Fertilizers.

The result is due to management carried out with balanced fertilization. Containing in its formulation macro and micronutrients in ideal concentrations to meet the most varied fruit and vegetable crops, “Mosaic Fertilizers’ nutritional solution has the difference of balance and synergy between nutrients and granulometric uniformity, providing high operational yield and effective distribution in the field” , says Guerra.

The presence of Phosphorus and Magnesium of high efficiency and solubility, with immediate and gradual availability of Boron and Sulfur and supply of Potassium with a lower contribution of Chlorine, provide balanced nutrition in adequate quantities throughout the entire crop cycle. As a result of this superior nutrition, the plants have better rooting and initial start-up, better vegetative development, increased flowering 'set' and preservation of the soil microbiota, providing more vigorous and productive crops.

“Multinutrient fertilizer also provides more resistance to adverse weather conditions such as lack of rain and high temperatures. Therefore, losses in productivity are significantly smaller”, explains Guerra.
