Winter crop productivity increases in RS
In the State, the wheat cultivation area reached 1.458.026 hectares in the 2022 harvest, with 85% of the harvest in this area already completed in the western region of the State
The Thematic Project “Use of remote sensing technologies, modeling and productivity maps to increase efficiency in nitrogen fertilization in sugarcane” has a Post-Doctoral Fellowship from FAPESP. Registration goes until Tuesday (06/12).
The scholarship holder will work in the Department of Agricultural Production Sciences at the Faculty of Agricultural and Veterinary Sciences at the Universidade Estadual Paulista (FCAV-Unesp), in Jaboticabal. The project presents an integrated approach of precision agriculture techniques with models based on calibrated processes and remote sensing to simulate the impact of sugarcane management at the field and watershed scale.
The candidate must have a doctorate in soil science; experience with research into spatial variability in soil and crop attributes; and experience in crop modeling.

The postdoctoral opportunity is open to Brazilians and foreigners. The selected candidate will receive a FAPESP Post-Doctoral Scholarship worth R$ 8.479,20 per month and a Technical Reserve equivalent to 10% of the annual value of the scholarship to cover unforeseen expenses directly related to the research activity.
