Engineering Research Center opens eight technical training vacancies
Registration must be made by October 20, 2020
PlantUP is the digital agricultural information platform that helps farmers make decisions, aiming to increase productivity without additional costs. The total number of agricultural areas registered on the PlantUP platform reached 10,2 million hectares in Brazil and Paraguay, in just one year since its launch. There are now more than 3600 registered farmers, from 21 states and 454 municipalities in Brazil and Paraguay, who have entered results from 448 soybean cultivars, 452 corn cultivars and 30 cotton cultivars.
The platform now has new features that will facilitate access to registered information. A new screen focusing on objectivity was prepared: the Highlight Panel. This new feature summarizes the farmer's main results compared to his region and indicates opportunities for gain, pointing out the most productive and most planted cultivars. “The platform thus shows, in general numbers, information that will make a difference when the farmer decides which cultivars to plant on his property”, explains Odilio Balbinotti Filho, president of Grupo Atto, creator of the platform. By clicking on the cards of interest, the farmer will have access to areas for more in-depth analysis of each cultivar and situation.
Farmers can also have access to the PlantUP platform and highlights panel in the palm of their hands, with the app for cell phones and tablets. It is available on iOS and Android operating systems and can be downloaded from Apple and Play Store. “The application makes it very easy to enter data and also presents a highlights screen so that the farmer can have a quick overview of the region. Our goal is for the platform to become increasingly intuitive”, highlights Odilio.
The platform was created to be a simple and high-impact digital tool, which allows farmers to make an organized record of their property's results, plot by plot and compare their performance with their region. The region is made up of five to six municipalities surrounding its property.
The need for farmers to have reliable information to make decisions lies, for example, in the fact that 150 soybean and 350 corn cultivars are launched in Brazil every year. There are many options on the market, and it is difficult to know which one is best for your situation. The platform helps analyze the performance of each one of them, providing information about the best population, planting time, soil texture, among other data. By choosing the best cultivars and readjusting their positioning, it has been possible to increase three to five bags of soybeans per hectare in relation to the average for each region.
PlantUP keeps all released data reliable and secure through advanced validation algorithms, a strict audit process, data encryption and information anonymity.
Any and all farmers can have free access to the PlantUP platform via the website meuplantup.com, regardless of the size of the property and levels of applied technologies.
