New reference specifications expand options for registering biological pesticides
Regulation published this Wednesday contributes to an increase in the registration and use of biological and microbiological agricultural pesticides for pest control
The cultivation of rice, first-crop corn and soybeans is advanced and advancing in the most representative producing regions of the country, as shown in the publication Harvest Progress. Produced by the National Supply Company (Conab), the document presents the weekly evolution of grain production with information on the percentages of planting and harvesting of the main crops.
By planting within the ideal window, the farmer tends to encounter a lower possibility of climatic adversities, which coincide with the most sensitive phases of crops, thus reducing the chances of crop failure.
For oilseeds, the planting rate reached 69,5% in the second week of November compared to 65,3% recorded in the same period last year. Although cultivation was delayed due to unfavorable weather conditions, the sowing rhythm was recovered with the onset of rain. While Mato Grosso, the main grain producing state, records 92,3% of the area already planted in the 2020/21 harvest, the percentage verified in Mato Grosso do Sul is 87,5%.
In the case of corn, the country already has planting started in 56,6% of the area. Paraná is the state with the highest percentage, with 96% of sowing already completed. But it is in the state of Minas Gerais that planting is faster, compared to the last harvest. While in the first 13 days of November 2019, Minas Gerais farmers had planted around 40% of the grain, this year, the rate reaches 75%. In Rio Grande do Sul, despite good rates, the progress of sowing and development have been hampered due to the lack of humidity, a consequence of the effects caused by the La Niña phenomenon.
For rice, the advance is registered in the two main producing states in the country. If in Santa Catarina it already exceeds the percentage of 95% of the product, in Rio Grande do Sul around 85% of the area has been planted. Contrary to what happens in Tocantins and Goiás. In both states, sowing is delayed.
The weekly monitoring of production carried out by the Company is intended to assist in the formulation of agricultural and supply policies, and also to support rural producers in their decision-making.
