Corn

In this summer 2017/18 harvest, DuPont Pioneer will sell a large part of its hybrids with Leptra insect protection technology. Launched in the 2016 summer harvest, Leptra technology is the combination of Agrisure Viptera, YieldGard, Herculex I, and Liberty Link technologies, which help control the main caterpillars that attack corn crops. In Brazil, it is also available in a version tolerant to the herbicide glyphosate, containing Roundup Ready technology 2 Corn.

Crop results from the 2016 summer harvest prove the effectiveness of Leptra technology, which, combined with the productive potential of Pioneer brand hybrids, are bringing many benefits to farmers in the various corn producing regions in Brazil. Remembering that maintaining the effectiveness of Leptra technology is highly linked to the adoption of good management practices by producers, including the use of effective structured refuge.

“Also for the 2017/18 harvest, the company will launch the P3898 on the market. An early cycle, medium-sized hybrid, excellent rooting, erect leaves, semi-hard orange grains and with a high level of resistance to the main diseases such as polysora rust, white spot, fusarium, mosaic complex and corn stunt. The P3898 is adapted for planting in the state of Paraná, Southeast, Central-West and Northeast regions of Brazil, and can be planted in summer and off-season", says Jerson Grieco, Technical Product Manager at DuPont Pioneer.

Soybean

For the next soybean harvest, in addition to the existing cultivars in the company's portfolio, the 96Y90 variety, an early cycle cultivar, with high production potential and adaptable to different soil and climate regions of the crop, will be offered to the market in sufficient volumes to meet the demands of DuPont Pioneer's various sales regions, from the South to Central Brazil. Soybean has a high degree of resistance to Cyst Nematode races 3 and 14 and Stem Canker, with several evaluations carried out in its experimental areas and pre-commercial crops, which prove its high stability and high development capacity in diverse environmental conditions", adds Jerson.

Also from the 2017/18 harvest, producers will have Intacta RR2 PRO technology. The technology provides a level of plant protection against several pests of economic importance, in addition to tolerance to the herbicide Glyphosate. The use of soybean cultivars with Intacta RR2 PRO technology must be associated with the implementation of good management practices for GMO crops.

To achieve excellent yields, the company also makes available to farmers DuPont Pioneer's Industrial Seed Treatment options with the insecticide Dermacor for soybeans, and Dermacor for corn associated with Poncho, which help control the main pests of these crops.
