Pioneer advances in leadership in summer and off-season corn in Brazil

Among the 10 best-selling hybrids in the country, four are part of Pioneer's portfolio, with emphasis on the first and second placed

Pioneer, a brand from Corteva Agriscience, remains the leader for the 14th consecutive year in the corn seed market in Brazil, according to research carried out by the companies Kleffmann (summer corn) and Spark (off-season corn), specialized in studies for agribusiness. Among the 10 best-selling hybrids in the country, four are part of the Pioneer portfolio, with emphasis on the first and second placed.

P3707VYH It is the hybrid most used by Brazilian producers in the off-season. With Leptra technology to control caterpillars, its distinguishing features are production stability, plant and grain health and good tolerance to stunting. Already the 30F53 remains the best-selling summer corn hybrid for 13 years in Brazil. In addition to offering production stability, it presents grain quality and wide geographic adaptation and by growing season.

In the 2019/20 harvest, Brazil achieved the highest grain production in history, with around 257 million tons. Corn is responsible for 102 million tons of this total, according to the National Supply Company (Conab). To contribute to this scenario, Pioneer is preparing a series of innovations, including a line of materials with greater drought tolerance, as well as hybrids from the expansion of Corteva's germplasm bank.
