The Price Guarantee Program for Family Farming (PGPAF) will guarantee bonuses for five products from states in the North and Northeast regions of the country this month of November and which were not on the October list. They are pineapple (SE), banana (PB and PE), cashew nuts (PE), cowpea (TO and MA) and mango (BA).

The list of products and the calculation of bonuses are made by the National Supply Company (Conab), based on the prices received by producers in October, valid for the period from November 10th to December 9th, according to an ordinance published this Wednesday on Friday (10), in the Official Gazette of the Union.

Among the products included this month, mangoes from Bahia guarantee the highest bonus, of 57,85%, for an average market price of R$0,51 per kilo. Cowpea farmers in Tocantins will receive the lowest rate on the guarantee bonus list, being 0,83% based on a respective average market value of R$196,29 for selling a 60-kilo bag. The other products on the list - pineapple (SE), banana (PB and PE), cashew nuts (PE) and cowpea (MA) - receive bonuses of 1,61%, 14,61%, 24%, 24,43 % and 1,96%, respectively.

The following are still on the list entitled to bonuses this month: açaí (AC), banana (AL), natural rubber (MA), cultivated cocoa (AM), yam/yam (AM and ES), cashew nuts (PI), onion ( SP), orange (PA) and passion fruit (CE). In the case of products that will no longer be received, they are: orange (RS), passion fruit (AL and BA), tomato (PI and SE), jute/mallow mallow (AM) and cassava root (PB).

Conab indicates which products on the list should be included and excluded in the program, based on the variation in market prices compared to the reference price. The climate and time of year are mainly responsible for this variation, in the occurrence of an increase or decrease in harvests. Competition from products from other states can also contribute to price variation.

The PGPAF offers a bonus to farmers who had their crops priced below the guarantee value offered by the program. The publication of the ordinance with the values of the monthly bonus is carried out by the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Supply (Mapa), which transfers resources to financial agents so that they can grant discounts to producers in Pronaf financing automatically, without the need for a request. .
