Perfect Flight, which in January 2021 had 10 million hectares monitored, reached in April 2022 (just over a year) the significant milestone of 25 million hectares digitized and monitored for agricultural spraying. Through cloud software, the platform helps producers monitor agricultural spraying (chemical and biological) ensuring less waste, more effectiveness in combating pests and diseases, in addition to contributing to the preservation of the environment.

The platform was presented during the company's participation at the John Deere stand, at AgriShow, which took place from April 25th to 29th. The potential of the platform drew attention at the event and contributed to agtech strengthening partnerships at the fair, with companies such as Embraer, John Deere, Syngenta Digital, among others.

The highlight was also due to the potential to reduce inputs and expenses, through the intelligent and moderate application of pesticides. It is worth highlighting that one of the recent concerns of Brazilian agribusiness is precisely the lack of pesticides and the high cost charged by the market.

In fact, this edition of AgriShow generated a turnover of R$11,2 billion, an amount 287% higher than that recorded in 2021. Among the justifications is precisely the disorganization of the production chain, including problems with maritime traffic, which triggered the increase in the price of inputs and components and increased demand for technological solutions that help reduce costs and optimize processes.

“Which further highlights the urgency of thinking about more technological, digital and intelligent agriculture. We are in the era of Decision Agriculture, not Precision Agriculture. The rise in costs shows that we need to better measure all operations, quickly and assertively, for decisions that lead to better results. Always more stable and less harmful to the producer’s financial health and the environment”, explained Paulo Villela, Business Development Manager at Perfect Flight.

The agtech platform was also present during the event at the Knowledge Arena, presenting integration with the Operation Center, John Deere's digital solutions interface, which now also offers access to Perfect Flight data. In practice, the system that collects ground spraying data in the John Deere data center now allows viewing of Perfect Flight's aerial spraying information. The objective is to assist rural producers in the best application of sprayed chemicals, from management to planning in real time.

Market tendencies

Technology in the field is synonymous with environmental safety, productivity and savings. Throughout the fair, there was debate that in the coming years, especially with the expansion of connectivity infrastructure, recently announced by the federal government, agribusiness will start working with platform integration. These systems that digitize production routines, solutions of all types are already inserted in the daily lives of producers, who are increasingly concerned with ensuring significant results, without harm to other ecosystems and also to their own pockets.

In this sense, agtech has been following the trend and has oriented agricultural production towards the technological field through the integration of systems with John Deere's Operation Center.

Drones were also highlighted at the event, with the participation of companies that work on technologies aimed at monitoring, spraying and other resources. This predilection for drones, which is on the rise around the world, has been naturally assimilated by the sector.

Data presented at the fair indicate that the global drone market will generate more than R$6 billion by the year 2025, with the Brazilian share in the period reaching R$600 million, with projected sales of around 3 drones.

At the forefront of the segment, Natutec – Koppert's drone company – entered into a partnership with Perfect Flight to include the monitoring and tracking solutions offered by agtech in its flights. Since the beginning of the partnership, in January this year, 360,5 thousand hectares of sugarcane have been tracked and monitored, which received the release of the macrobiologicals Cotesia flavipes and Trichogramma galloi.

With this new technology, the producer now has a practically automated report of the activities on his property, with information such as application map, operator, equipment, doses and hectares treated. In the first quarter of this year, 4.137 reports were generated, which are available to the customer on the platform within 2 minutes.

In addition to the partnership with Natutec, Perfect Flight also operates in the sector together with Arpac, a company specializing in agricultural drones. Perfect's platform dynamically reads the entire pesticide application area, in addition to also assimilating external factors, such as weather conditions, proximity to springs and regions with the presence of people and animals, to determine the best moment and the best pattern application of pesticides. In other words, the producer receives a complete analysis to guide, in the most effective way, the protection of the plantation.

“The big brands focused on presenting technological solutions and integrations to generate increasingly more value for their customers, not just on machines, which were previously the main focus of the fair. The volume of data we digitize, for example, reinforces the potential of the technological intelligence market for the field”, added Villela.
