This week, Perfect Flight completes five years of operation and celebrates its achievements in Brazil and also on international soil. With the largest database for aerial spraying in the world, totaling more than 16 million hectares digitized, the company grew revenue by 2,5x last year, compared to 2019, expanded its staff and recently opened a office in Iowa, United States. For the future, growth expectations are high, with the goal of doubling the number of digitized hectares by 2022.
For Kriss Corso, CEO of Perfect Flight, the continued growth in the market is due to the tool's high technology and innovation. “We have expanded the platform’s functionalities over the years. We started only with flight monitoring, then we added other possibilities, such as pre-flight, which plots the best route, in addition to indicating visibility, temperature and direction, information that undoubtedly provides greater assertiveness in applications.”
Agtech was introduced to the market in 2016 as a tool capable of managing the aerial application of agricultural pesticides. Based on the analysis and idea of entrepreneurs Kriss Corso and Josué Corso, it arose to cure the pain of rural producers, who until then were unable to access concrete data on where they were applying inputs and how they could improve aerial spraying, even without reaching restricted areas, such as apiaries, forests and water sources.
With Perfect Flight's service, rural producers have greater savings, as they make assertive use of agricultural pesticides and add social responsibility to production, by protecting environmentally sensitive areas, made possible with the data and maps generated by the tool. It is a Brazilian intelligence, designed by rural producers, which supports the entire agribusiness chain in strengthening results and environmental protection. “The startup’s uninterrupted development proves that the power of data is undeniable. Technological advances and access to analytical and precise data intelligence are driving the agro sector to new levels worldwide”, highlights Corso.
The company also believes in the importance of investing in human capital. From four initial employees, the team currently has 39 employees in Brazil, and plans to hire more in the country. In the United States, the forecast is to integrate 60 professionals. “Our team is a fundamental part of our success. The specializations and knowledge of each person contribute to the constant updates of the system”, says Pedro Bonamichi, partner at Perfect Flight.
Even today, for employees who prefer it, the company has officially adopted home office as an alternative. According to Bonamichi, agtech believes that employees need to be open to choosing how and where they perform best, so that the working relationship is one of trust and satisfaction.
Since it began operations, agtech has been increasing revenue and the number of hectares monitored each year. The strength of the business involves several factors, including the entry of a new investor in 2019; businessman Norival Bonamichi, founding partner of the Ourofino Group, who took over as Chairman of the Board.
Currently, the company counts some of the biggest global agricultural players as clients (among them, Raízen, Amaggi, Tereos, SLC and International Paper) and is present in more than 100 Brazilian cities, in the country's main agricultural states, and in soils international. In addition to the office in the United States, it is present in Latin America, in countries such as Argentina and Honduras. “Our current strategy is to accelerate international expansion and take this intelligence, which reduces costs, increases efficiency and helps food production in a sustainable way, to many other countries in the coming years”, points out Rodrigo Iafelice dos Santos, the company's Strategic Advisor .
