Based in São João da Boa Vista, in the interior of São Paulo, Perfect Flight launches international flights in 2021 with the opening of an office in Iowa, in the United States. The creation of the new space included the involvement of advisor Dan Burdett, an experienced and renowned North American agribusiness professional, former Global Head of Digital Agriculture at Syngenta and creator of this area in the respective company. For office activities, it is planned to hire another 60 employees.
Agriculture is one of the most important sectors for the American economy, and the state of Iowa stands out as one of the main hubs in the segment. In addition to being the largest producer of soy and ethanol in the country, it is home to one of the most renowned universities in the world for this category, Iowa State University, known for promoting scientific research on the use of technology in agriculture. Perfect Flight's new facility is located in the Iowa State University Research Park complex.
Agtech plans to reach 100 digitized hectares in the United States this year. The objective of the new office is to centralize and expand international negotiations, including clients from other countries, in addition to North America.
Currently, the startup has the largest database for agricultural spraying in the world. There are more than 16 million hectares digitized on the platform. Already present in international crops through rice and soybean crops, in Argentina, and sugar cane, in Honduras, the startup has in Brazil, in addition to its headquarters, five more advanced bases, located in the south, southeast , Cerrado Sul, Cerrado Norte and Matopiba, serving customers and rural producers in Latin America.
With high technology, agtech solutions enable the generation of accurate reports, which guide towards greater assertiveness of aerial applications, reducing production costs by up to 50%, or more, depending on the number of hectares processed, and contributing to the protection of areas environmentally sensitive, such as forests, apiaries, reserves, among others.
Rodrigo Iafelice dos Santos, advisor to the company, comments on the motivation to bring more assertiveness to the field globally, through monitoring of spraying. “Providing the best conditions to achieve environmental compliance in aerial applications of agricultural pesticides, which result in sustainable food production, as well as safety for rural communities, is what moves and inspires us to carry out this expansion”, he says.
