Master's degree investigates rational management of water resources in agriculture
Master's degree from Unesp and IPT investigates technology in favor of water
According to Radar AgTech 2019, a mapping of the agribusiness innovation ecosystem carried out by Embrapa, SP Ventures and consultancy Homo Ludens, there are more than 1.100 startups in agribusiness, of which 80% are located in the state of São Paulo – the capital leads the national ranking with 262, followed by Piracicaba (41), Campinas (38) and Ribeirão Preto (37). But with so many tools that lead to increased productivity, sustainability, among other improvements in the field, the path now is to integrate them to make the rural producer's routine easier. That's what the Perfect Flight and Strider data intelligence systems did.
As the two technologies complement each other, they decided to come together. Strider develops digital solutions that impact farm operations, focusing on phytosanitary control and efficient use of inputs, combined with the most modern machinery and climate information, in order to guarantee increased productivity and reduced costs. It is a tool that delivers analysis and data so that producers can make assertive decisions at the ideal time. Perfect Flight offers spraying traceability, generating data that helps producers save time and costs when applying pesticides, in addition to promoting sustainability in the field, with attention to restricted areas and well-defined routes.
Now, the software will be able to act in an integrated manner, optimizing results on properties and promoting precision agriculture. All with a focus on streamlining definitions on farms and making the routine more practical and effective. “Our customers and partners understand that technology is fundamental to the quality of production, but they complained about the excess of platforms. The partnership with Perfect Flight is precisely a way to complement our product and solve this recurring request in the field”, says Paulo Vianna, Business Development Director at Strider.
The startups' joint action will begin at the end of the year and can be requested by Strider customers. “In addition to facilitating work on rural properties, the partnership expands our operations and disseminates technological strength for agriculture. By covering the producers served by Strider, we will further consolidate the power of artificial intelligence in agribusiness”, highlights Leonardo Luvezuti, operations manager at Perfect Flight.
Perfect Flight was created in São João da Boa Vista, in the interior of São Paulo, in 2015, to resolve traceability flaws in aerial spraying, since, until then, the producer was unable to control and know about the efficiency of the application of chemical pesticides. The tool developed by the startup provides georeferencing data that produces an exact flight plan for the pilot, avoiding overlaps, waste and applications in inappropriate places. Furthermore, at the end of the application, it offers a series of information and comparisons for analysis, allowing constant improvement of spraying. More than 3 million hectares have already been monitored by the startup's application.
To expand its market strength and, mainly, monitor the development of agribusiness, Perfect Flight seeks to get closer to other companies and startups that offer solutions for the field, in order to verify possibilities of system integration with a focus on the effectiveness of results for the producer. This is how Perfect Flight and Strider established the software unification partnership.
Strider is an agtech that is part of the Syngenta group, located in Belo Horizonte (MG), a city that is in 8th place in the ranking of startups in Brazil. Focused on solutions for agribusiness, Strider was created in 2013 and launched the first pest monitoring and control software using information technology. The application follows the daily life of more than 3 thousand farms around the world, totaling 4 million hectares monitored.
“Integrating the system with other platforms and maintaining the evolution of the service provided to producers are our ambitions, including for next year. The path of technology in agribusiness is growing and Brazil is being seen as a reference in this area. We have to keep up with market innovations”, says Perfect Flight’s operations manager.
