Pension reform (PEC 06/19) was the main topic of the lunch meeting of the Parliamentary Agricultural Front (FPA), held in Brasília this Tuesday (26/2), which received the Special Secretary for Social Security, Rogério Marinho , as representative of the Executive Branch. On the occasion, Marinho explained the relevant points of the PEC, mainly those related to rural workers, to the 51 parliamentarians present. The president of Aprosoja Brasil, Bartolomeu Braz Pereira, was one of the participants at the meeting.

One of the most debated changes in the reform that impacts the rural sector were the measures to prevent fraud in rural workers' pensions. If the PEC is approved, the rural family nucleus will need to contribute at least R$600,00 annually to be entitled to the benefit as a special insured. Family unit is the rural worker, spouse or partners, children over 16 years of age, who carry out activities in a family economy regime, without permanent employees.

The president of the FPA, Alceu Moreira (MDB-RS) stated that, in general, the Front supports the pension changes proposed by the federal government, but it is necessary to analyze some points and do the math. For Moreira, what was presented is a project and, as such, needs a debate, with some questions.

The secretary emphasized that possible modifications, within the government's vision, must take into account the backbone of the project “which is basically having a fair system, where those who receive more pay more and those who receive less pay less, with the attack to privileges and fraud and the collection of debts from large debtors”.

Other topics were also discussed at the meeting, such as the composition of permanent and mixed thematic committees in the Chamber and Senate.
