Partnership increases the efficiency of organic farming

Biotrop and Orion now offer a solution for applying biological products directly in the planting furrow

With the aim of providing producers with greater efficiency in the application of biological products and increasing crop productivity, Biotrop - a company that develops biological and natural solutions for agriculture - announces an unprecedented partnership. This is an agreement with Orion, from Pompéia/SP, which develops equipment for applications in the planting furrow.

The application of biological and natural products with a jet directed into the planting furrow is growing consistently and has become an increasingly relevant process in Brazilian agriculture. The growing adoption of biological technologies, such as biodefensive products, inoculants, bioactivators, among others, benefits from the precision, condition, location, quantity and correct timing that the practice allows, protecting not only the seed, but also the microenvironment in which it is deposited. .

With the partnership, Biotrop customers will have access to unique and attractive conditions when purchasing Orion equipment. In addition to the commercial benefit, the producer will have security when investing in the highest standard in application efficiency. “Biotrop produces excellent products through biotechnology. Orion offers equipment that will provide the correct application in the planting furrow, guaranteeing the maximum performance of bacteria in the soil”, says the president and director of research and development at Orion, Ricardo Rodrigues da Cunha.

According to the expert, application in the planting furrow seems very simple, but it is not. There are a series of factors that need to be observed to ensure that bioproducts can express their full potential. “Our vision as a machine manufacturer is to apply products correctly. One of the factors that kill bacteria or render them unusable is the wrong pressure, an item to which we pay a lot of attention. Furthermore, you need to pay attention to the temperature and pH of the water where the product is placed and mixed”, highlights Cunha.

Shared gain

Biotrop consolidated this partnership by understanding that its efforts and care with the selection and manipulation of its bacteria in the industrial process need to be maintained until application to the soil. “The performance of our products is maximized when they reach the target correctly, both in phytosanitary control and in improving plant performance for high productivity, with the inoculants and biostimulants we produce. Application technology, therefore, is a fundamental part of the results achieved with these technologies. This way there is a high return on investment for our customers with the use of Biotrop solutions”, says Biotrop’s research and development manager, Agnelo Vitti.

Why apply in the groove?

Seeds have a product adsorption limit. The possibility of applying bioinputs in the furrow allows expanding the use of larger volume solutions such as premium inoculants, bionematicides, biostimulants and biofungicides.

In addition to this benefit, some products used in TS, such as chemical pesticides and nutrients, can be toxic to biological agents if the seed treatment operation is not carried out well. “The separation in the application method guarantees greater viability of these microorganisms. Furthermore, there are operational benefits, for example, if there are delays in soybean planting there is no need to re-inoculate the seeds with Bradyrhizobium sp. (inoculant), ensuring the effectiveness of the technology”, adds Vitti.
