Interested startups and entrepreneurs have an unprecedented opportunity to present ideas and proposals to provide solutions to problems in the grain production chain. All this through the Agrotech Eco-Innovation Camp: Sustainability for the Grain Chain, the result of a partnership between Sebrae, Embrapa and UN Environment. Registration is open nationwide until July 16th, through the link www.sebrae.com.br/desafioagrotech.

Up to 20 innovative proposals will be selected, with up to ten opportunities for ideas from entrepreneurs and up to ten aimed at startups in operation or traction. Proposals must be aligned with solving problems or identifying opportunities that bring socio-environmental improvements to the grain production chain, such as: reducing carbon emissions, reducing losses and inefficiencies, waste management, efficient use of energy, control or reduction of chemical pesticides, efficiency in the use of water resources, soil conservation and collaborative solutions.

“One of the central points is the challenge of learning to conserve the environment while investing and encouraging innovative ideas without causing harm to the value chain that involves the entire grain production. The result is a reduction in environmental impact and an increase in the competitiveness of Brazilian grain agribusiness”, highlights Sebrae's technical director, Heloisa Menezes. The director of Technology Transfer at Embrapa, Waldyr Stumpf, highlights the rapprochement between technology and the rural sector: "the most important value we see in this action is the opportunity to bring youth closer to this dialogue between digital technologies and the construction of solutions sustainable for Brazilian agriculture".

Whoever secures first place in the startups category will win the right to participate in a fair focused on sustainability, in Paris, France, in December this year. The winner in the ideas category will win participation in the Annual Startups and Entrepreneurship Conference (CASE), to be held in October in São Paulo.

“As part of the 2030 Agenda, we are determined to work to protect the planet from degradation, especially through sustainable consumption and production, sustainable management of natural resources and urgent measures on climate change – which reflect the scope of the 12 Agenda. Sustainable Development XNUMX, an ambitious but feasible challenge, which can only be achieved if we come together: United Nations, governments, civil society and the private sector”, highlighted Regina Cavini, program officer at UN Environment.

The entire regulation is now available and registration, which is free, through the Sebrae Portal: www.sebrae.com.br/desafioagrotech
