Scientists find volatile compounds that serve as indicators of the problem
The Carbon Credits in Brazilian Agriculture panel will take place on August 16th (Tuesday), starting at 17:30 pm, broadcast on YouTube. The free meeting is open for registration and will bring together researchers Afonso Peche, Decio Gazzoni and Tiago Egydio Barreto. The objective of the event is to bring to light relevant developments in the new carbon market emerging in Brazil, including the qualification of farmers, the positioning of companies and business opportunities in the area.
Afonso Peche is a researcher in the field of agri-environmental management. He has worked for several years at the Engineering and Automation Center (CEA), at the IAC-Instituto Agronomico, an entity of the Secretariat of Agriculture and Supply of the State of São Paulo based in Jundiaí (SP). He has accumulated experience in biosystems engineering, agricultural mechanization and is among respected experts dedicated to the study of environmental management in river basins.
A distinguished researcher at Embrapa – Brazilian Agricultural Research Corporation –, master in entomology Decio Gazzoni was head of Embrapa Agropecuária Oeste (Dourados-MS) and Embrapa Soja (Londrina-PR), as well as advisor on Strategic Affairs to the Presidency of the Republic. He is now also a member of the International Scientific Panel on Renewable Energy and a consultant for the IDB and the World Bank.
Biologist and doctor in plant biology, researcher Tiago Egydio Barreto is a management consultant for sustainability and environmental conservation projects at Fundação Espaço Eco. The non-profit organization was established by the German company BASF and its mission is to promote development sustainable in the business environment and society.
The presentations will be mediated by journalist Fernanda Campos, a professional specialized in covering agribusiness topics.
